Celebration Weekend

A lot has happened in the past couple of weeks. Quick recap of what’s been going in our lives:

-I graduated from the best university out there, Texas A&M

-Jon and I went to San Francisco and Napa for vacation

-I got a job

-Jon left for basic training and artillery school

To start off catching up on everything here are some hi-lights from the celebration weekend. Thanks to everyone who came and made it special!

With the two girls, Rachel and Karen that have been with me from day 1 at A&M, it just made sense that we would all make our mortar boards with Lilly prints and our monograms and a little sparkle. Modge podge will save us all.

Thank you to all my family and friends for coming to the lovely College Station to sit through an almost 3 hour long ceremony.

One of my favorite parts of the whole graduation ceremony was turning my ring around so the ’13’ faces out to the world. Exciting times!

Up next: Jon and Rachel take on California including Wine Country, some Redwoods, and San Francisco

A very special day

It happened on Friday the 14th of September at the Clayton Williams Alumni Center around 4:30. My parents came in, my cousin was there, my roommate was there, friends were all going to be there too. All for the Fightin’ Texas Aggie Ring Day! A very special day indeed. This is one of the days (besides graduation) that I have been working towards and it felt so gratifying to have my right hand feel a little heavier when my dad slipped the ring on my finger. I had my dad give my ring to me since he is a fellow Aggie and part of the reason that I am at A&M in the first place. It’s hard to tell who was more excited.

Look how pretty and shiny it is!

The other side of this tradition: the ring dunk. It happened… It was horrible but it had to be done. 4 beers, 1 minute 20 seconds, and one shiny Aggie ring caught in my teeth and it’s official official. WHOOP!
